Tori Kohl has been attending a major Cleveland home and garden show for years, and it’s been a dream of hers to staff a booth at a show like that.
Now she can cross this off her bucket list. Tori, Ohio Basement Authority’s Graphic Design Specialist, recently helped cover a shift at our company’s booth at the Columbus Dispatch Spring Home and Garden Show.
“It got me out of my comfort zone,” Tori said. “You have to be outgoing and talk to people. I’m glad I did it. It was a good time, and I had a lot of fun.”
Tori said the day also presented another opportunity for her to get to know External Marketing Coordinator Jacalyn Brown even better.
“It’s a great show so far,” Jacalyn said on Wednesday, halfway through the eight-day event. “I think it’s because of the size (of the event) in general, the advertising that goes into it, and the availability of open hours so people can come here after work. A lot of people have been coming up to us because they know we’re here, and they want to book an appointment or get some information.”
Not only will our teammates like Jacalyn be able to answer questions about our company and our services, they’ll also help you book an appointment with us while you’re at the show. That way, we’ll have you on the schedule to meet with one of our inspectors in a timely manner so we can help you address your repair needs.
“Offering to book appointments on the spot is a huge selling point, and it’s nice that we’re able to do that,” Tori said.
Hosted at the Ohio Expo Center, the show is bustling with activity. But our booth doesn’t have any bells and whistles, just friendly staff members, useful information and a clean and simple layout to draw your attention. The backdrop depicting our major repair services has hit home with many attendants, Tori said.
“People are walking up to it, pointing, and saying ‘my basement looks like that, and I want it to look like that,’” she said.
Jacalyn said along with interacting with new faces, she also enjoys hearing from happy homeowners raving about our company.
“I like meeting past customers who are happy with the projects we’ve completed for them,” she said. “I don’t get to talk to a lot of people once the work was done, so it’s nice to hear those stories.”
Those experiences warm the heart of Appointment Center Representative Jennie Mason as well.
“It’s always a nice, pleasant crowd and a lot of happy customers who say ‘thank you,’ that they had a great experience with us, and the crews were so polite,” she said. “It makes me feel proud to work for Ohio Basement Authority.”
The event continues through Sunday. Whether you’re eager to sing our praises or inquire about that waterproofing, crawl space, or foundation project you’ve had on the back burner, be sure to stop by Booth #350/352! We can’t wait to see you!
