Are you looking to purchase your first home? Have you recently made the move into a house and made it your own?
Congratulations to you! Finally attaining homeownership is exciting and liberating. It also comes with its share of responsibilities.
As we observed New Homeowners Day on Tuesday, May 1, and extended the celebration to New Homeowners Week, we want to share with you the many ways we can help homeowners just starting out.
It is crucial to have your home built on a solid foundation, figuratively and literally. Any cracks, gaps, tilting and signs of movement indicate foundation failure. It’s best to address these problems right away when you notice them as opposed to neglecting them and risking the safety of your home and family.
We offer a variety of reliable, heavy-duty foundation repair solutions that will fix the problems and protect your significant investment. These products include Carbon Fiber straps, IntelliBrace beams and Wall Anchors to help stabilize walls; IntelliJacks to reinforce and level sagging floors; and Helical and Push Piers to stop walls and chimneys from settling.
Whether you plan to use your basement for laundry, storage, an entertainment area or bedroom space, this below-grade level of your home needs to be dry. You wouldn’t want your belongings to be damaged by seeping, flooding water, mold, or mildew.
Our BasementGutter below-floor drainage system will catch any seeping water from the walls and floor, and drain it into one of our various sump pump systems. Our powerful, yet energy-efficient dehumidifiers, which self-drain into the drainage system or sump pump, also help create a healthier living environment by cleaning and filtering the air, controlling moisture and humidity, and reducing odors and the potential for mold growth.
The crawl space often is overlooked or forgotten. This area under your home could be extremely unhealthy and affecting the health of the rest of the house. If you have a vented dirt crawl space, chances are there’s water, mold, moisture, humidity, pests and other nuisances that actually are in your home.
We can clean up and properly seal and insulate your crawl space so that it will not be detrimental to your quality of life. Once we encapsulate it with CrawlSeal, insulate it with ExTremeBloc and foam insulation panels, and waterproof it with CrawlDrain and SafeDri Pro, you can even use your crawl space for storage!
While the aforementioned repairs are vital, we also can help with other important projects.
To avoid a sewer backup or water line break, or even if you’ve recently experienced these problems, we can replace the broken lines of these essential utilities serving your house with thicker, more reliable pipe.
If you have gutter downspouts that drain close to the foundation or are extended tripping hazards above the ground, we can attach pipes to the ends of these lines, place them in the ground, and direct them to drain far away from the house. We also can install new sump pump discharge lines and tie them into these downspout conductor lines.
If you plan to use your basement for bedrooms or livable space, you need to have a functioning emergency exit. According to the International Residential Code for One-and Two-Family Dwellings, all habitable spaces such as basements are required to have at least one operable emergency escape route and rescue opening. We can install an egress window that not only enhances the safety of your house, but the appearance of the home and basement as well.
Please do not hesitate to contact us if we can assist you. We would love to help you create a safer and healthier forever home!
