During the 20 years that they have lived in their house, homeowners in Newark, OH, noticed longtime structural problems were only worsening with time. While wall reinforcing measures were installed on other walls, the wall that had not been previously stabilized had visibly significant signs of failure. Several areas of this wall were cracking and tilting inward.
The homeowners were concerned with the complete failure of the wall, and they knew they could no longer ignore these problems. As they began to research how to address these issues, they saw several Ohio Basement Authority TV ads. This motivated them to contact us to learn more about how we could help them.
The homeowners then met with Inspector Clark Sturgill. When Clark visited the home, he completed a thorough evaluation of the problematic foundation wall. He then recommended one type of our many trustworthy foundation repair solutions.
The homeowners were then eager for one of our crews, led by Foreman Martimiano Alonso, to install several IntelliBrace beams along the failing wall.
These steel beams are fastened and secured to the floor joists. The beams are then plumbed against the wall as level as possible, and the bottom of the beams are anchored to the floor. These heavy-duty beams are zinc-plated beams so they are protected from corrosion and damage, unlike the other metal and wooden supports that were failing to stabilize the walls. Another unique feature with this system is the ability to tighten the beams during dry seasons to potentially improve and straighten the wall over time.
The homeowners now have peace of mind knowing these reliable repairs have helped them create a safe and structurally sound living environment.
