While they have lived in their house for several years, it wasn’t until three years ago that homeowners in Lakeview, OH, began to notice potential structural issues with their home. Since then, these issues have only worsened. There were several areas of cracks and gaps in the home’s exterior brick, which are typical signs of foundation settlement.
Concerned with the structural integrity, as well as the aesthetics of their home, the owners were motivated to address these problems once and for all. As they began to research potential repairs, the owner came across Ohio Basement Authority’s website.
The owners then met with Inspector Zeke Fowler, who completed a thorough evaluation of the foundation walls. During his inspection, Zeke also noticed significant cracks and gaps in the crawl space along the same problematic walls. Zeke discussed his findings with the homeowners, as well as their repair goals, and he recommended one type of our many reliable foundation repair solutions.
Foreman Ben O’Bryant and his crew then installed many Push Piers underneath the settling foundation walls.
The crew first excavated the ground outside the problematic foundation walls, digging down to expose the foundation footing. Once heavy-duty steel brackets were secured to the footer, rugged steel tubes were driven through the brackets and down to more competent soils. The weight of the home was then transferred through the piers to load-bearing strata. This ensures no further settlement will occur, and the walls can be lifted back to level.
The homeowners now have peace of mind knowing this trustworthy solution has helped them create a safe and stable forever home.
