There are countless items stored in the basement, and she didn’t want to risk any of them being ruined. Unsure of what to do, her daughter began to research the best way to address this alarming issue. They found information about Ohio Basement Authority and immediately called us for an emergency service appointment.
One of our service technicians visited the home to assess the flooding basement and provide temporary relief. He installed a temporary sump pump as well as exterior drainage to get the leaking water out of the home. Once the basement was dry, our tech recommended upgrading the waterproofing system to prevent another problem.
One of our crews, led by Foreman Martimiano Alonso, then returned to install permanent solutions.
The failing and temporary sump pumps were removed and replaced by the “king” of sump pumps, the SafeDri Triple system. The SafeDri Triple features three powerful pumps inside the liner, as well as an external backup battery. All of these pieces work together to ensure any seeping water will be pumped out of the home, even during power outages.
A dehumidifier also was installed in the basement of the 45-year-old home to clean and filter the air, control moisture and humidity, and reduce odors and the potential for mold growth.
FreezeGuards were attached to the exterior sump pump discharge lines to prevent flooding if the lines freeze or become blocked. These lines also were tied into new downspout conductor lines that were installed on the property. The lines were placed in the ground and directed to drain to the street side curb.
The homeowner can rest easier knowing these trustworthy repairs will help keep her home dry.
