A homeowner in Bucyrus, OH, has lived in his house since it was built 45 years ago. During the last several years, he has witnessed structural issues beginning to worsen. One of the foundation walls was cracking. A horizontal crack spanning the length of the wall was beginning to worsen, and some areas of the wall also were tilting inward.
The owner plans to live in the house for the foreseeable future, and he was motivated to address these issues before serious damage resulted. He started to research repair options, and he came across information about Ohio Basement Authority. He was eager to contact us to learn more about how we could help him ensure his home’s safety and structural stability.
The owner met with Inspector Zeke Fowler who completed a thorough evaluation of the home and the problematic foundation wall. Zeke then presented the owner with one type of our many reliable foundation repair solutions.
Foreman Ryan Toledo and his crew then permanently stabilized the wall by installing several IntelliBrace beams. Unlike typical metal beams, these reliable IntelliBrace beams are unique in their ability to be tightened for potential wall improvement.
These beams are fastened and secured to the floor joists. The beams are then plumbed against the wall as level as possible, and the bottom of the beams are anchored to the floor. These heavy-duty beams are zinc-plated beams so they are protected from corrosion and damage. Another unique feature with this system is the ability to tighten the large bolts at the top of the beams during dry seasons to potentially improve and straighten the wall over time.
The homeowner is pleased to now have a safe and stable living environment because of this trustworthy solution.
