As the owner of a building that houses various businesses, a man in Delaware, OH, wanted to ensure the health and safety of the structure. Water continuously leaked into the basement of the almost 90-year-old building, and the owner wanted to find a solution to nip this issue in the bud.
As the owner began to research potential repairs, he found information about Ohio Basement Authority on online resources like Angie’s List. He was then motivated to contact us for further guidance. The owner then met with one of our inspectors who visited to complete a thorough evaluation of the property.
Our inspector found visible evidence of water intrusion and damage through the walls and floor, along with an inefficient sump pump system. He then presented the owner with some of our reliable basement waterproofing solutions.
One of our crews then waterproofed the basement with the BasementGutter drainage system and SafeDri Prox sump pump.
The basement’s perimeter first was excavated in order to properly install the BasementGutter system. BasementGutter is specifically designed to sit in the basement’s sub-floor and atop the footing in order to accept seeping water from the walls and floor. Weep holes were drilled into the bottom of the walls to allow any seeping and built-up water in the walls to escape and flow into the BasementGutter system.
Any water intercepted by BasementGutter is then directed to drain into the SafeDri Prox sump pump system that was installed to replace the older, failing system. The SafeDri’s ½ hp pump inside the liner can pump more than 2,000 gallons of water out of the basement per hour. The larger SafeDri Triple liner was used to allow for easy future upgrades.
The property owner is happy these trustworthy solutions were installed to help keep the building safe, healthy and dry.
