New homeowners recently purchased and moved into a house in Delaware, OH. They began to make a to-do list of repairs they wanted to complete, and at the top of the items to tackle was the partial crawl space adjacent to the basement. This area was not properly sealed or insulated, and they wanted to have a barrier installed.
As the owners began to research potential repairs, they found information about Ohio Basement Authority online. This motivated them to contact us for further guidance. They then met with one of our inspectors, Francis Purcell, who completed a thorough evaluation of the crawl space. Francis then presented the owners with some of our reliable repair solutions.
One of our crews then transformed the crawl space’s health and appearance.
Thick drainage matting was first placed on the crawl space floor to add cushion to the floor and enhance the durability of the encapsulation material.
The crawl space was then encapsulated in CrawlSeal. This thick and durable liner, similar to swimming pool liner, completely seals the crawl space by covering the walls and floor to isolate the home from the earth. CrawlSeal also serves as a moisture and vapor barrier, and it helps insulate the crawl space. It is tough enough to crawl on, making the crawl space a more functional area ideal for storage purposes. Additionally, spray foam was applied to the band joists for further insulation.
The crew also upgraded the basement’s waterproofing system by replacing the older sump pump with our more reliable SafeDri Pro X system.
The homeowners now have peace of mind knowing these trustworthy repairs have helped them create a safe and healthy living environment.
