The owners wanted to have this problem corrected before serious damage resulted, so they began to research repair options and companies. They were motivated to contact Ohio Basement Authority after they found information about our company on Home Advisor.
They then met with one of our inspectors who evaluated the leaking home. He pointed out that there were downspout conductor lines on the other side of the seeping areas. Water draining from these lines can easily saturate the ground directly outside the basement walls, and then find its way inside the block foundation walls. Our inspector recommended that the homeowners update the exterior drainage system.
Foreman Levi Fletcher and his crew then installed new downspout conductor lines. The crew used durable 4” polyurethane pipe for the downspout conductor lines. These lines were attached to the ends of the gutter downspouts and directed away from the home’s foundation to drain water into the yard. These lines were placed in the ground, and the soil and grass was replaced to conceal the new buried lines.
The ends of these new lines also were concealed by YardWell outlets. This attachment, which prevents clogging from leaves and debris, can easily be removed for cleaning. Its green color allows the outlet to blend into the lawn, and it is durable enough to withstand lawnmower traffic.
The homeowners are happy to have an updated exterior drainage system that will help keep their home dry.
