A man recently took ownership of his parents’ home in Westerville, OH, after a death in the family, and he wanted to address some repair issues in the home.
Water was visibly leaking inside the basement and leaving puddles on the floor. This greatly concerned the owner, but he knew he could count on Ohio Basement Authority for the right solution. His family previously worked with our company to stabilize and straighten problematic foundation walls with several Wall Anchors.
During one of the annual maintenance appointments, the owner met with Service Technician Erin Carnahan who helped tighten the wall anchors as well as look at the seeping water. Erin then recommended the perfect basement waterproofing solutions.
Foreman Nate Klingenberger and his crew then waterproofed the basement with the BasementGutter and SafeDri systems.
The basement’s perimeter was first excavated to create a trench in order to properly install the BasementGutter system. BasementGutter is specially designed to sit in the sub-floor to intercept seeping water from the walls and floor. This water is then directed to the SafeDri Battery Backup System. The SafeDri features two powerful pumps inside its liner, as well as an external backup battery. The latter ensures the system will always operate to pump water out of the basement, even during power outages.
Additionally, one of our foundation repair solutions was installed on another foundation wall. Several Carbon Fiber supports were placed on a wall that was starting to crack and tilt. These heavy-duty supports firmly adhere to the wall to hold it in its current position and prevent any further cracking or bowing.
The owner now has peace of mind knowing that these trustworthy solutions are protecting the home from flooding and foundation failure.
