A new homeowner has lived in her house in Lancaster, OH, for less than one year. During that time, she noticed some drainage problems she could no longer continue to ignore. Some corners of her basement were leaking water. These also happened to be corners with above-ground drainage lines outside the house.
The owner wanted to fix this problem once and for all, so she began to search for the best repair options. After learning about Ohio Basement Authority through the Better Business Bureau, the owner was eager to contact us for further guidance. She then met with one of our inspectors who evaluated the condition of the exterior drainage lines. Our inspector advised the owner to have these unsightly lines replaced.
Foreman Levi Fletcher and his crew then installed new downspout conductor lines. The crew used durable 4” polyethylene pipe for the downspout conductor lines. These lines were attached to the ends of the gutter downspouts and directed away from the home’s foundation to drain water into the yard at the edge of the property. The lines were placed in the ground, and the soil and grass were replaced to conceal the new, buried lines. The ends of these new lines also were concealed by YardWell outlets.
The homeowner is pleased to have an updated exterior drainage system that will help keep her home dry.
