After living in her house for more than 20 years, a homeowner in London, OH, began to question the condition of the drainage system on the property. She thought something was wrong with the sump pump discharge line as well as downspout conductor lines.
She knew she could count on Ohio Basement Authority for advice and the right fix because family members had crawl space and basement work done by us and relayed their remarkable experience to her.
The owner met with Inspector Andrew Rothenberg who evaluated the condition of the exterior drainage system. Andrew then recommended having one of our crews upgrade the existing unsafe and unsightly above-ground system.
Foreman Martimiano Alonso and his crew then installed new downspout conductor lines. The crew used durable 4” polyethylene pipe for the downspout conductor lines. These lines were attached to the ends of the gutter downspouts and directed away from the home’s foundation to drain water to the edge of the property. These lines were placed in the ground, and the soil and grass was replaced to conceal the new buried lines.
Additionally, a FreezeGuard was placed on the exterior sump pump discharge line to prevent flooding if the line should freeze or become blocked.
The owner is pleased to have an updated exterior drainage system that will help keep her home dry.
