During the 12 years that they have lived in their house, homeowners in Enon, OH, have been dealing with an ongoing problem. Water seeped inside the basement workshop area every time it rained. This resulted in visible puddles, as well as damage to the walls and floor. There was an existing sump pump system, but it was obviously failing to properly function to keep the basement dry.
The homeowners wanted to fix and protect their basement for good, so they started to search for repair options. They found information about Ohio Basement Authority through online resources like Home Advisor, and they were eager to contact us for further guidance.
The owners then met with one of our inspectors who evaluated the condition of the problematic basement. He then presented the homeowners with some of our reliable basement waterproofing solutions.
Foreman Jamey Hackett and his crew then waterproofed the basement with the BasementGutter interior drainage system, SafeDri Battery Backup System, and CrawlSeal wall system.
The perimeter of the basement was first excavated in order to properly install BasementGutter. This drainage system is specially designed to sit in the sub-floor and atop the footing to accept seeping water from the walls and floor.
Any water collected by BasementGutter is then directed to drain to the SafeDri sump pump system. This system – which was installed to replace the older, inefficient sump pump system in the basement – features two powerful pumps inside the sump liner, as well as an external backup battery. The SafeDri then pumps this water out of the basement and away from the home.
The exterior sump pump discharge line was tied into new downspout conductor lines, which converged into one line that was directed far away from the home. The pipes for this line were placed in the ground, and the end of this line was concealed in the yard with a YardWell outlet.
Additionally, CrawlSeal was placed on the basement walls to improve their appearance, as well as assist with the waterproofing process. This 100% waterproof, anti-microbial liner allows seeping water from the walls to flow down into the BasementGutter system.
The homeowners are pleased to now have a safe and dry basement and home because of these trustworthy repairs.
