Homeowners in Delaware, OH, have lived in their house for 36 years. During that time, they have witnessed some worsening issues that were beginning to worry them. They noticed a corner of two perpendicular foundation walls had cracks in a stair-step pattern, as well as gaps between the blocks. These are telltale signs of foundation settlement.
Concerned with the safety and stability of their home, the owners wanted to find the right repair. After seeing TV ads for Ohio Basement Authority, the owners were motivated to contact us for further guidance. Inspector Jacob Thomas visited to evaluate the condition of the walls, and he presented the owners with one type of our many reliable foundation repair solutions.
One of our crews, led by Foreman Ben O’Bryant, then installed several Push Piers underneath the settling foundation walls.
After the crew dug down to expose the footing, heavy-duty steel brackets were secured. Rugged steel tubes then were driven through the brackets to more competent soils. The weight of the house as then transferred through the piers to load bearing strata. This ensures no further settlement will occur, and the walls can be lifted back to level.
The homeowners now have peace of mind knowing this trustworthy repair project has helped them create a safer, stable living environment.
