During the 50 years that they have lived in their house, homeowners in Coshocton, OH, have been keeping an eye on an ongoing issue. During the last several years, they noticed water leaking into the basement during and after heavy rains.
The owners were concerned about these problems affecting the health and safety of their home, as well as their ability to sell it in the future. As they began to research potential repairs, the owners came across Ohio Basement Authority’s website and they wanted to contact us for further guidance. They met with Inspector John Becker Sr. who completed a thorough evaluation of the home and its leaking basement. John then recommended the best solutions to keep their home dry.
Foreman Jose De Jesus Tellez Ortiz and his crew then waterproofed the basement with the BasementGutter interior drainage system and SafeDri sump pump.
The basement’s perimeter was first excavated in order to properly install the BasementGutter system. BasementGutter is specially designed to sit in the sub-floor, atop the footing, and out of the “mud zone” to accept seeping water from the walls and floor. It also has a special flange at the back of the wall to allow seeping water from the walls to flow behind and into the drainage channel.
Any water intercepted by BasementGutter is then directed to drain into the SafeDri Battery Backup System to be pumped out of the home. This system features two powerful pumps inside the sump liner, as well as an external backup battery that ensures the system’s operation even during power outages.
The homeowners now have peace of mind knowing these trustworthy solutions have helped them create a dry and healthy living environment.
