Homeowners in Hilliard, OH, have lived in their condo for several years. They recently noticed a problem that raised a red flag, however. Water was leaking into the basement, and it was obvious that the existing sump pump system was failing to keep up.
The owners wanted to address these issues before any serious damage resulted to the home or their belongings. After browsing through Ohio Basement Authority’s website, the owners wanted to contact us for further guidance. One of our inspectors completed a thorough assessment of the home, and he recommended some of our reliable repairs to keep the basement dry.
Foreman Colin Sotlar and his crew then waterproofed the basement with the BasementGutter interior drainage system and SafeDri Battery Backup system.
The basement’s perimeter was first excavated to properly install the BasementGutter system. This special drainage system is designed to sit in the sub-floor and atop the footing to accept seeping water from the walls and floor. Any water collected by BasementGutter is then directed to a more reliable sump pump system.
The SafeDri Battery Backup system was installed to replace the older, failing system. The SafeDri features two powerful pumps inside its liner, as well as an external backup battery. This battery ensures the system will continue to operate to pump water out of the basement even during power outages.
Additionally, a FreezeGuard was attached to the exterior sump pump discharge line to prevent flooding if the line should freeze or become blocked. A dehumidifier also was installed to help improve the home’s air quality.
The owners are pleased to have more reliable systems protecting their home.
