Homeowners recently moved into their house in Washington Court House, OH, and they wanted to ensure the health of their living environment. They noticed the crawl space was an unsightly and unhealthy area full of debris and other hazards.
The owners wanted to properly address this area of the home so they would never have to worry about it. As they started to search for repair options, the owners came across Ohio Basement Authority’s website. They read up on crawl space problems and repairs, and they were eager to give us a call to start the repair process.
They first met with Inspector John Dean who ventured into the crawl space to complete a thorough evaluation of this area of the home. John then recommended the perfect solutions that would transform the nasty area into a healthier one.
After taking great care to first remove the debris and other nuisances from the crawl space, one of our crews then encapsulated the crawl space in CrawlSeal liner.
CrawlSeal is a thick and durable liner – similar to swimming pool liner – that completely seals the crawl space to isolate it from the earth. CrawlSeal also acts as a moisture and vapor barrier, and it helps insulate the crawl space. CrawlSeal is tough enough to crawl on, and it automatically brightens the crawl space, thus making this area ideal for storage.
Additionally, spray foam was applied to the band joists, and the crawl space was further sealed from outside nuisances by several vent covers that were placed on the home’s exterior.
The homeowners are happy they crossed this project off of their to-do list, and that it helped create a safer and healthier living environment for them.
