A homeowner in Marysville, OH, has noticed bowing and cracking in her foundation walls for years. She wants to sell the home and make sure it will be structurally sound for future owners.
The former owner reinforced the walls with several beams, but the current owner found this system was not passing inspections. After seeking advice from an engineer, the engineer recommended having additional wall reinforcements installed.
The homeowner contacted Ohio Basement Authority, and one of our expert crews installed 8 steel I-beams along the east foundation wall. This installation meets the homeowner's goal of permanently stabilizing the entire foundation wall.
Three existing beams on the east wall, and two on each of the north and west walls, were also re-blocked so they will better support the walls. Any wall cracks were also repaired.
The homeowner is pleased the walls will be permanently stable for future owners for years to come.
