They have lived in their house for 30 years, and homeowners in Columbus, OH, wanted to get to the bottom of their crawl space issues. Even though they rarely go into the crawl space, they could tell the area was becoming a problem because of cold floors in their home.
They contacted Ohio Basement Authority, and Matt Wojciechowski performed a thorough inspection. He noticed groundwater seepage, mold, condensation, duct leakage, open vents and insects and other pests.
He recommended various encapsulation, waterproofing, and structural repair projects that offer complete solutions to the homeowners' problems.
After removing debris and adding gravel to the floor to make it more level, one of our expert crews installed the CrawlDrain Crawl Space Drainage System in the floor around the crawl space perimeter. This intercepts any water and drains it to the SafeDri Pro sump pump.
Drainage matting was placed on the crawl space floor, then the area was encapsulated with durable CrawlSeal liner to isolate it from the earth. Cost-effective ExTremeBloc insulation panels were installed on the walls, and two IntelliJacks were installed to further stabilize the home's floor above the crawl space.
The dehumidifier was installed near the SafeDri Pro to clean and filter the air, and it will automatically drain into the sump pump.
The home is also protected from the outside. Several Vent Covers were installed to keep excess moisture and cold airflow out of the crawl space. A YardWell Outlet was also installed to camouflage the end of the exterior drainage pipe from the SafeDri Pro, and prevent freezing.
All of these products meet the homeowners' goals of fixing groundwater seepage, controlling earth moisture, preventing mold, reducing odors, and saving energy. They are happy to now have a dry and healthy home.
