Sewer Line Replaced in Columbus, OH

Thursday, April 9th, 2015 by Holly Richards-Purpura

Homeowners in west Columbus, OH, were concerned when the sewer line serving their house backed up.

They contacted Ohio Basement Authority, and Inspector Victor Golowin recommended replacing the sewer lateral just outside the home.

Once the proper permits were obtained, one of our expert crews began to excavate outside the home to gain access to the clogged clay sewer line.

Clay pipes can fail, crack and erode due to a variety of causes including ground settlement and tree root intrusion. These pipes were replaced with strong SDR 35 plastic sewer pipe. After the new pipe was installed, it had to pass an inspection by the City of Columbus.

The SafeDri pump was also installed in the basement to keep it free of any seeping water.

The homeowners are happy to have a new, updated sewer line system to serve their home, as well as an updated waterproofing system.
