Homeowners in Marion, OH, were concerned with the structural integrity of their home. They have lived in the 67-year-old house for almost 15 years, and they wanted to make sure it would be a safe and structurally sound environment.
The existing beams on the foundation walls were beginning to fail and show signs of corrosion. The walls were bowing inward and featured various cracks. While no water was seeping into the basement from these particular cracks, there were some spots at the base of the foundation that showed water intrusion.
With the goal of finding permanent solutions to these issues, the homeowners contacted Ohio Basement Authority. Certified Inspector Victor Golowin performed a thorough inspection on the home's interior and exterior, and suggested various foundation repair and basement waterproofing methods.
Per Victor's recommendations, one of our expert crews installed 12 Carbon Fiber wall supports on the south and east foundation walls, and six steel IntelliBrace beams on the north foundation wall. Both of these heavy-duty products stabilize the problematic foundation walls and prevent any further inward movement.
The homeowners now have peace of mind knowing their home will be structurally sound and free of water for many years to come.
