Selling a house is a major decision for a homeowner. It affects the current homeowner, as well as future owners, so it is important to make sure the house will always be a safe living environment.
Homeowners in Chillicothe, OH, have lived in their house since it was built 30 years ago. They noticed cracking and bowing in two of the block foundation walls behind drywall was getting worse over time. They were concerned these issues would affect their home's value and the ability to sell the house.
The owners contacted Ohio Basement Authority after learning more about our company through online research. One of our inspectors completed a thorough inspection at the home and proposed various permanent foundation repair solutions.
We addressed the foundation wall failure by installing two types of wall anchors.
Five Wall Anchors were installed on the east foundation wall, and 10 Channel Anchors were installed on the north foundation wall.
Both of these products permanently stabilize the problematic foundation walls, prevent further cracking and inward bowing, and offer the best opportunity to straighten the walls. The only difference between these two types of anchors is that the Channel Anchors are also bolted to the floor.
The homeowners now have peace of mind knowing the house will be more stable for many more years to come.
