Basement Windows are Upgraded During an Egress Window Installation in Orient, OH

Thursday, August 13th, 2015 by Holly Richards-Purpura

Homeowners in Orient, OH, have lived in their house since it was built almost 20 years ago. While they have not had any major issues with their home, they wanted to do something different with the basement window on the east wall that did not let in much light.

After learning more about Ohio Basement Authority's products and services online, they contacted us because they were interested in an egress window installation. Egress windows enhance the appearance, as well as safety, of basement windows. They are also ideal emergency exit points for basements. The windows, window wells, and well covers are durable and secure.

After removing the existing windows, one of our expert crews excavated the area outside the window and carefully cut into the block foundation wall to make room for the new window. The all-vinyl frame is rust-resistant, and the window's double-pane glass is energy efficient.

A light-colored window well installed outside the window allows more sunlight to bounce into the basement, and brightens up the space. A sturdy clear cover attached to the well for safety also prevents weed growth and keeps leaves, debris, and rain out of the well. The homeowners are pleased to have an updated basement window system that enhances safety and appearance.
