Some mobile homes are built so they can be transported from one location to another, and some are meant to stay put. Others are also constructed with permanent foundations just like typical houses. The owners of a mobile home on a permanent foundation in Coshocton, OH, were not sure where to turn when they noticed water intrusion in the basement and crawl space areas. Water seemed to enter the basement in various corners, saturating the floor and walls and leaving behind mold and mildew. The owners wanted to find a permanent remedy that would prevent these issues and keep the entire basement dry all the time.
They contacted Ohio Basement Authority after learning more about our company and services through our informative website. One of our inspectors completed a thorough evaluation at the leaking home, then proposed various permanent solutions that would meet the owners’ goals and repair needs.
One of our expert crews, led by Foreman Jose DeJesus Tellez Ortiz, then installed our best basement waterproofing and crawl space repair products.
The BasementGutter interior drainage system was installed in the basement’s sub-floor. If any water seeps through the basement walls or corners, the BasementGutter system will intercept it and drain it to a reliable sump pump. The SafeDri Battery Back-Up system as installed to pump this seeping water out of and away from the home. This system was installed in a larger liner of one of our other sump pump systems, the SafeDri Triple, so it can easily be upgraded if the owners choose to do so in the future.
A dehumidifier was installed in the basement. This energy-efficient dehumidifier filters and purifies the air, controls humidity, and prevents mold and moisture problems. The foundation walls were covered with CrawlSeal liner. This durable liner is typically used to encapsulate crawl spaces, but it is also an ideal material to be used on walls. It acts as a moisture and vapor barrier, and it brightens the basement by improving the appearance of the walls. The two smaller crawl spaces off of the basement area also needed some attention, and they were encapsulated in CrawlSeal.
The owners were excited these products were installed so their home will be a healthier living environment for many more years to come.
