Permanent Waterproofing Solutions like BasementGutter and SafeDri Will Keep a Leaking Church Basement Dry in Jackson, OH

Tuesday, May 31st, 2016 by Holly Richards-Purpura

All basements, from those in houses and condominiums to business offices and church buildings, need to be healthy and dry environments.

After the pastor of a church in Jackson, OH, noticed water seeping into the basement, he knew he needed to promptly address this issue. He contacted a local repair company that attempted a method known as dig and seal. This involved excavating the earth outside the leaking foundation wall down to the footer. An exterior waterproofing material was applied to the wall to seal it from moisture intrusion, then the soil was backfilled and replaced.

Water continued to seep into the church basement, however. This alarmed the pastor and the parishioners, who did not want items stored in the basement to be ruined.

After learning more about Ohio Basement Authority from one of our many satisfied customers, the pastor was eager to contact us to find a quality permanent solution. One of our inspectors completed a thorough evaluation of the leaking basement, and he presented the pastor and church committee with solutions that will keep the basement dry for good.

One of our experienced basement waterproofing crews, led by Foreman Manuel Inguil, installed the best waterproofing products in the industry. These included the BasementGutter interior drainage system and SafeDri Battery Back-up system.

The perimeter of the floor was excavated so BasementGutter could be installed in the sub-floor. If any water seeps into the basement, it will automatically be intercepted by the BasementGutter system and directed to the SafeDri sump pump. This reliable system will always work to pump water out of the basement, even in the event of a power outage.

Additional waterproofing products that were installed included drainage pipe in front of the walk-out basement’s door. This section also was tied into the rest of the BasementGutter system. A FreezeGuard was attached to the exterior sump pump discharge line, and this line was buried underground. A YardWell outlet was then attached to camouflage the end of this buried line.

The pastor and parishioners were excited these reliable waterproofing solutions were installed. The basement will now be a safe and dry area, enabling the church to use this space for storage and other functions.
