Homeowners in Cambridge, OH noticed that during heavy rain, the run-off came down the driveway, ran against the foundation, and then into the basement in at least three different spots. They tore down most of the dry wall to air it out, but that was not fix for the problem.
One of our inspectors visited the home to decide which products would work best for this case. He suggested installing a SafeDri Prox system and BasementGutter to permanently waterproof the basement.
After learning about the products, the homeowners agreed that these would be excellent fixes.
The production crew first installed the SafeDri Prox System. This is a cast-iron sump pump which can pump up to 2,200 gallons of water per hour. It has an airtight lid to prevent debris from getting into the pump, and an Alarm as an added precaution in case the pump stops working for any reason.
Then, they installed the BasementGutter System along the perimeter of the basement. This is a specialized interior drainage system which collects water without risk of clogging. A small amount of concrete was removed to install it, and replaced after the crew was finished.
The BasementGutter pipes will carry excess water into the SafeDri Prox, and this will pump it out and away from the home.
The homeowners can now replace their drywall without worry of more water pouring in and ruining them again.
