Homeowners in Cambridge, OH, noticed that during heavy rain, the run-off came down the driveway, ran against the foundation, and then into the basement in at least three different spots. They tore down most of the drywall to air it out, but that was not fix for the problem.
One of our inspectors visited the home to complete a thorough evaluation and decide which products would work best for this case. He suggested installing a SafeDri system and BasementGutter to permanently waterproof the basement.
After learning about the products, the homeowners agreed that these would be excellent fixes.
The production crew first installed the BasementGutter System along the perimeter of the basement. This is a specialized interior drainage system which collects water without risk of clogging. A small amount of concrete was removed to install it, and replaced after the crew was finished.
Then, they installed the SafeDri System. This is a cast-iron sump pump which can pump up to 2,200 gallons of water per hour. It has an airtight lid to prevent debris from getting into the pump, and an alarm as an added precaution in case the pump stops working for any reason.
The homeowners can now replace their drywall without worry of more water pouring in and ruining them again.
