A woman who works for a housing company contacted us with plans to rehabilitate a large multifamily development. It appeared that water had infiltrated into a few units. The company wanted a licensed waterproofing contractor to go on site, evaluate the issues, and provide an inspection report.
One of our inspectors visited the property and determined what would be best to fix the problem. He explained different waterproofing products we offer and how they could aid the situation.
The company decided to have SafeDri Prox systems with SafeDri backup and BasementGutter installed in the effected units.
The installation crew came in and first installed the SafeDri Prox pump systems. These are 1/2 horsepower cast-iron sump pumps which can pump up to 2,200 gallons of water per hour. They added on the SafeDri battery backup, which keeps the pump working in the event of a power outage.
Next, they installed BasementGutter interior drains around the perimeter of the unit basements. This is a unique below-floor drain system which collects water from the ground and wall with large holes and a special flange. Unlike traditional pipe and gravel drains, it is resistant to clogs because of its design.
The company now feels comfortable making this development available to families.
