Stabilizing a Porch That Separated from a Home in New Albany, OH

Tuesday, October 11th, 2016

Challenge

We were contacted about a porch falling away from a home owned by a home building company. Someone wanted to by the home, but was concerned about the issues with the porch. There were cracks in the porch concrete and a large crack in the brick connecting the porch and the home.

One of our inspectors visited the home and inspected the shifting porch. He determined that Helical Piers should be used for the foundation failure.

Solution

The company chose to have these repairs installed.

One of our crews used four Helical Piers to lift and stabilize the porch. These are steel piers which are screwed into the ground to stop foundation cracks.

The interested individual can now purchase the house with ease and no worries about the porch now or in the future.
