This Commercial Point, OH, home's crawl space became noticeably moist and moldy in the past year. The family lived there for 10 years, and the smells and dampness had just begun to bother them and their allergies.
They contacted us and set up an appointment with one of our certified inspectors who visited the home and explained the options they had to keep the crawl space dry.
The homeowners decided to go with CrawlSeal liner and drainage matting.
The installation crew first came in and laid down the drainage matting. This allows water to run under the matting and into a drainage system, and also provide extra cushioning when crawling around in the space. This family had a preexisting sump pump, so they decided not to install one of our sump pump or drainage systems.
Next, they installed CrawlSeal liner on top of that. This is a 7-layer, 20-millimeter thick plastic liner used to separate the crawl space from moisture, mold, and pests from outside.
The homeowners can now use their crawl space for storage, and enjoy breathing healthier, dryer air in their home.
