A farmhouse in Caledonia, OH had cracks in the walls and water seepage coming through them. There were also critters in the basement. The homeowners wanted to fix all of these problems, so they called Ohio Basement Authority.
One of our inspectors visited the home for a free inspection and estimate. He explained all of the waterproofing products we offer and how they would fix the water issues. He also explained foundation repairs that could be done.
The homeowners decided to tackle one problem at a time, so they chose to go with waterproofing products first.
The homeowners wanted to have BasementGutter, SafeDri Prox with SafeDri attached, and FreezeGuard installed.
The production crew first installed SafeDri Prox which is a 1/2 horsepower cast-iron sump pump. They attached the SafeDri battery back-up pumping system with 120 amp sealed maintenance-free battery. Then, they installed FreezeGuard to prevent floods from a discharge line if it becomes frozen in the colder months. Finally, they installed the BasementGutter sub-floor drainage system. These are specialized drains which sit directly on the concrete footer at a slight incline to drain the water into the sump pump system.
The homeowners feel much better about the basement now that it is permanently waterproofed, and they can go on to correct their foundation issues if they choose to do so in the future.
