A cabin in Bainbridge, OH had an extremely humid, un-insulated crawl space. The owner called us to help improve energy bill costs and make this weekend getaway a healthier one.
Certified inspector, John Dean visited the cabin for a free inspection and estimate. He explained all of the options the owner had to encapsulate and insulate the crawl space.
Of the options we provide, the owner decided to have CrawlSeal Liner, CrawlDrain, a dehumidifier, FreezeGuard, and SafeDri Prox installed.
The production crew, led by foreman Jose De Jesus Tellez Ortiz, started the job off by installing the SafeDri Pro pump system with a liner, cast-iron pump, CleanPump Stand, airtight lid with airtight floor drain and an alarm system. These will all work together to create a fast-working, clean sump pump.
Then, they attached FreezeGuard to prevent floods from a potential frozen sump pump discharge line in the winter months.
Next, they installed the CrawlDrain System in the crawl space to identify future plumbing leaks. This will not only help the owner catch potential leaks, but it will carry all water away from the crawl space and through the SafeDri Pro.
After that, they set up the Air System, which will both dehumidify and filter the air. Its compact design fits perfectly in crawl spaces.
Finally, they installed CrawlSeal Liner to encapsulated the crawl space. This is a 7-layer, reinforced antimicrobial plastic liner which completely separates the space from the outside elements.
For added insulation, they closed off the vents with vent covers to prevent cold air from getting inside and warm air from escaping. This also prevents pests from entering the crawl space.
The owner is very happy with the results and now has lower electric bills, and a cleaner living environment.
