A home in Sugar Grove, OH, was built on a hillside, so it had a walkout basement. The homeowners had had minor water issues since moving in that would never let the walls dry out completely. They did not feel the problem was urgent, but it was something they definitely wanted to address.
One of our inspectors wennt out to the home to inspect the problems. One of the first things he noted was that the basement did not have a sump pump. Since the sump is the heart of a waterproofing system, this was an obvious part of the moisture issue.
He explained our different waterproofing products and how each could be used to repair this basement.
The homeowners decided to go with several products, including: SafeDri Prox and BasementGutter.
The production crew first installed the SafeDri Prox pump system. This is a 1/2 horsepower system which can pump up to 2,200 gallons of water per hour.
Finally, they installed the BasementGutter sub-floor drainage system. These are drains which sit on directly on the concrete footer at an angle in order to direct water collected from the floor and wall into the SafeDri Prox. They also added an optional inspection port to allow access to the inside of the drain to make sure everything is working properly at all times.
The homeowners are happy with the results, and they no longer have to worry about wet walls or a damp basement.
