A couple inherited a home in Galena, OH, after the wife's parents passed away. They wanted to sell the house, but it had water and moisture on the walls and water was leaking into the basement bedroom. The home was located on a slope, so water easily flowed into the bedroom where it collected in one corner. Her parents had been having the problem for more than five years, so the couple knew it wasn't going to go away on its own. After finding us online, they called in to schedule a free inspection and estimate.
One of our inspectors visited the home to determine the best path to take for repair. He suggested using SafeDri Prox, FreezeGuard, and BasementGutter to mend these problems, and ease the couple's worries.
These products were installed by one of our adept production crews.
First, they put in the SafeDri Prox pump system. This is an exceptional system with a 1/2 horsepower pump that can pump 2,200 gallons per hour. This will serve as a catch basin for all water in the basement, and pump it out and away from the home.
Next, they attached FreezeGuard to the sump pump discharge line. This assures that water will be released even if the line becomes frozen in the winter or blocked for any reason. FreezeGuard does its job even if it is buried under a foot of ice and snow.
Lastly, they installed the BasementGutter sub-floor drainage system. This is a series of drains which sit directly on the concrete footer under the floor. Unlike generic pipe and gravel drains, BasementGutter will not clog with dirt because it doesn't come into contact with soil under the home. It collects water from under the floor, on top of the floor, and the walls and carries it into the sump pump.
This couple feels much better about their ability to sell the home now that it is drier, cleaner, and healthier!
