A couple purchased a fixer-upper from a sheriff's sale in Shawnee Hills, OH. They were beginning to renovate, but the humidity, mold, and wet floors in the basement needed to be professionally dealt with before continuing. They knew that if they wanted to finish the basement and turn it into the entertainment center of their dreams, they needed a reliable waterproofing system. After doing a search online, they called us to schedule a free inspection and estimate.
One of our inspectors went to the home to evaluate the state of the basement. He said that CrawlSeal Liner, dehumidifier, BasementGutter, FreezeGuard, and SafeDri + SafeDri Prox were some of the products we offer that could create an effective waterproofing system.
The homeowners agreed to have these products installed.
Our expert production crew finished this job within three days.
First, they installed the SafeDri Prox pump system along with the SafeDri battery back-up pumping system. This is a high-powered sump pump which is able to pump 2,200 gallons of water per hour out of a basement. If the power goes out, the SafeDri turns on and keeps the pump working.
Next, they attached FreezeGuard to the sump pump discharge line to prevent floods from a frozen line. This allows water to be released even if it is buried under a foot of ice and snow.
Then, they installed the BasementGutter sub-floor drainage system. This is made up of drains which surround the perimeter of the basement. They lie directly on the concrete footer in order to catch water from the walls, floor, and below. However, unlike traditional pipe and gravel drains, BasementGutter will not clog with soil from under the floor.
After that, they set up the Basement Air System. This is a dehumidifier which both filters and dries the air; it is able to remove ten times the amount of water as regular dehumidifiers, while using the same amount of energy.
Finally, they put up the CrawlSeal crawl space encapsulation system. This is a white, plastic liner which is thick enough to keep moisture and dirt out, and bright enough to lighten the space. Under that, they laid down specialized drainage matting to allow water to flow under it instead of puddling.
The new homeowners are satisfied with the results, and are ready to tackle the next steps of renovation.
