Water was leaking in one area of a partially finished basement in Kingston, OH after a winter thaw. The house was built in 1979 with no drainage system. The homeowners said there appeared to be water seepage from the floor because the walls weren't wet. They had only lived there for a year, but planned to live there long-term, so they wanted to fix this problem for years to come. After doing a web search, they discovered that we offer free inspections and estimates for homeowners, so they called us to schedule an appointment with one of our certified inspectors.
One of our inspectors visited the home to assess the situation. He suggested using BasementGutter, one of our state-of-the-art sump pump systems, and FreezeGuard to make sure the basement would not leak again.
The homeowners decided to go with BasementGutter, SafeDri Prox, and FreezeGuard.
An appointment was set with one of our expert installation crews to install these products. They first installed SafeDri Prox pump system with cast iron pump, liner, airtight lid, and airtight floor drain. This is a 1/2 horsepower sump pump system which can pump up to 2,200 gallons of water out of the basement per hour.
Next, they attached FreezeGuard to the sump pump discharge line. This allows water to escape from the line even if it is frozen or blocked for any reason.
Lastly, they installed BasementGutter, which is a series of sub-floor drains which lay at an angle on the concrete footer in order to drain water into the sump pump. Unlike regular pipe and gravel drains, they will not clog with soil from under the floor.
The homeowners are happy with the results, and do not have to worry about water leaking into the basement ever gain due to our dependable products.
