Not long after moving into his house, a homeowner in Bloomingburg, OH, began to notice he had a leaking basement. Water seemed to seep inside through the walls, leaving puddles and visible damage behind. The owner would like to eventually finish the basement, but he knew he needed to make sure it would be dry before doing so.
While researching repair options, the homeowner came across Ohio Basement Authority’s website and began to learn more about our company and our services. After contacting us to set up an appointment for a free inspection, he was eager to meet with Inspector Jacob Thomas. Jacob thoroughly evaluated the 86-year-old home’s leaking basement and presented the homeowner with several permanent solutions.
Per Jacob’s recommendations, one of our crews then installed some of our many reliable basement waterproofing solutions.
These included the BasementGutter drainage system and SafeDri Pro x sump pump. If any water seeps inside the basement, it will be intercepted by the BasementGutter system. It is then directed to the SafeDri Prox sump pump and safely pumped out of the basement and away from the home’s foundation.
The CrawlSeal wall system also was installed on the lower half of the concrete walls. CrawlSeal is typically used in crawl space encapsulation projects, but this thick and durable liner has other practical uses as well. Not only is the appearance of the walls improved, the CrawlSeal liner also helps in the waterproofing process. Any seeping water will flow behind CrawlSeal and down to the BasementGutter system below. CrawlSeal also acts as a moisture and vapor barrier.
The homeowner now has peace of mind knowing these trustworthy solutions have helped him create a safer and healthier living environment.
