After moving into their house about 10 months ago, homeowners in Pataskala, OH, started to put boxes and bins of their belongings in the partial crawl space just off of the basement. Recently, however, the owners began to wonder about the health of the crawl space and safety of their stored items.
The homeowners started to research how to best address the issues in the crawl space, which had failing plastic floor liner, moldy and failing fiberglass insulation, and other debris near their stored belongings. They were eager to contact Ohio Basement Authority after learning more about our company and our repair services.
They met with one of our inspectors who evaluated the less than ideal storage area. He then presented the homeowners with the perfect permanent solution.
One of our crews then transformed the crawl space. After removing the nasty insulation and floor liner, the crew encapsulated the crawl space in CrawlSeal liner. Closely resembling swimming pool liner, CrawlSeal is a thick and durable liner that fully seals the crawl space from the earth. Its durability is further enhanced by the strong drainage matting placed on the floor before the encapsulation process.
CrawlSeal also acts as a vapor and moisture barrier, and it helps insulate the crawl space. It also brightens the crawl space and dramatically improves the appearance of the area.
The homeowners are happy to have a healthier and more functional crawl space.
