She has lived in her house for many years, but it wasn’t until recently that a homeowner in Gahanna, OH, began to become frustrated with exterior flooding waters.
The entrance to her driveway off of the street was slanted just enough to cause water to pool in the driveway. She was tired of walking and driving through these flooding waters, and she wanted to find a permanent solution.
She began to research how to best address this issue, and she was eager to contact Ohio Basement Authority after learning more about our company online. She then met with one of our inspectors who evaluated the situation and recommended the perfect solution to prevent the driveway from turning into a wading pool.
Foreman Jose de Jesus Tellez Ortiz led his crew in installing sections of drainage pipe in the lowest point of the sloped section of the driveway. The drainage pipe system features grated openings to collect flooding water, removable lids for cleaning and service, and it is designed to create no tripping hazards.
The drainage pipe, which spans the width of the driveway at its entrance, also is connected to buried discharge lines that drain near the existing culvert. This culvert runs underneath the driveway entrance and also spans the width of the driveway.
All of these measures will help water drain away from the driveway, and the homeowner is pleased they have helped her create a safer living environment.
