Since they moved into their house five years ago, homeowners in Mount Vernon, OH, have been dealing with a wet, leaking basement. Water seemed to seep into the basement through several areas whenever it rained. This resulted in small amounts of water saturating the floor, and once the basement ended up flooding.
The homeowners were tired of this continuous issue, and they were motivated to have it fixed once and for all. While discussing their concerns with a trusted friend, this friend recommended they contact Ohio Basement Authority because he was pleased with the basement waterproofing work we completed in his home.
The owners were eager to contact us to learn more about how we could help them. They met with one of our inspectors who assessed the condition of the wet basement. He then presented the owners with some of our reliable basement waterproofing solutions.
One of our crews then installed these solutions, which included the BasementGutter interior drainage system and SafeDri sump pump.
The basement’s perimeter is excavated so the BasementGutter system can sit in the sub-floor. This way, the system is out of the “mud zone” so it will not clog like other drainage systems. This also allows BasementGutter to collect water that seeps from the walls and floor.
Any water intercepted by the BasementGutter system is then directed to the SafeDri sump pump that was installed to replace the older, inefficient system. Two powerful pumps are housed inside the sump liner. We used the larger SafeDri Triple liner to allow for easy future upgrades. The external backup battery also ensures the system’s continued operation to pump water out of the basement even if the power goes out.
The homeowners now have peace of mind knowing these reliable solutions will always keep their basement dry.
