During the 24 years that they have lived in their house, homeowners in Washington Court House, OH, started to notice problems in and underneath their home. Some areas of the floor were sagging and uneven, leading them to believe there were problems in the crawl space under the house.
The owners knew support was needed in the crawl space, but after hearing mixed advice from various repair companies, they did not know how to address this issue. They again began to research how to fix the problem, and they came across Ohio Basement Authority’s website. They contacted Ohio Basement Authority to learn more about how we could help them, and then met with one of our inspectors. Our inspector evaluated the condition of the sagging floors and investigated the crawl space. He then recommended having one of our crews seal the crawl space and support the floors with one of our foundation repair solutions.
One of our crews then completed these repair projects.
Several IntelliJacks were installed to stabilize and help lift the areas of sagging floor. These heavy-duty supports are made of galvanized steel for durability and resistance to rust, corrosion and rot. They are designed to prevent any further settling, but they can easily be adjusted if any settling occurs.
The crawl space was then encapsulated in CrawlSeal liner. Similar to swimming pool liner, the thick and durable CrawlSeal fully isolates the crawl space and home environment from the earth. It acts as a moisture and vapor barrier, and it helps insulate the crawl space. Vent covers were installed on the home’s exterior to further seal the crawl space, and a door was installed over the exterior crawl space access point.
The homeowners now have peace of mind knowing these reliable repairs have helped them create a healthier and safer forever home.
