Homeowners in West Mansfield, OH, moved into their house shortly after it was built more than 40 years ago. While it has been a wonderful house for them, they have been monitoring potential problems for several years.
One of the foundation walls was cracking and slightly tilting inward, and these problems only seemed to worsen over time. While these are common signs of foundation wall failure, they will only result in more problems down the road including costly repairs and a dangerous, collapsing wall.
The homeowners were motivated to fix these problems once and for all. They contacted Ohio Basement Authority after seeing our ads on TV, and they were eager to meet with one of our inspectors to learn more about how we could help them. The inspector completed a thorough evaluation of their home and its foundation, including the problematic wall. He then recommended one type of our many reliable foundation repair solutions.
Foreman Michael Gramly then led his crew in installing several Wall Anchors on the problematic foundation wall.
First, holes were carefully augured in the yard for the earth anchors that are part of the system. Small holes were then drilled through the basement wall. Galvanized steel rods were driven out and earth anchors were installed and attached to the rods. Once the earth anchors are attached to the exterior portions of the rods, wall plates were attached to seat the earth anchors.
These heavy-duty anchors permanently stabilize the wall and offer the best opportunity to straighten the wall because of their unique design.
The homeowners now have peace of mind knowing their home will be a safer and structurally stable living environment because of this reliable repair solution.
