A home in Shelby, OH, had brick foundation walls which were cracking and bowing inward. While the owner did not live in the home, there were two tenants that did and the three of them had growing concerns about the basement walls which seemed to be getting worse.
Inspector John Becker Sr. examined the walls in order to diagnose the problem and determine a remedy. He said the Anchors could be used to stabilize the walls.
Wall Anchors are durable earth anchors which are implanted into stable soil on the outside of the foundation walls. These are attached to durable steel wall plates inside via galvanized rods which are tightened to bring the two ends closer together. This pulls the foundation walls toward their original positions.
The homeowner and tenants decided this would be a good option, so they set an appointment for installation.
The installation crew finished the project within one day. In this short time, the home was stabilized and the tenants and owner were given peace of mind due to these dependable repairs.
