Homeowners in Marengo, OH, have lived in their house for almost 30 years, but it wasn’t until recently that they spotted potential structural issues in their basement. One section of a foundation wall was cracking, as well as slightly tilting inward.
The owners attempted to fill the cracks in the walls, but the problems only continued. Hoping to find a permanent solution, they contacted Ohio Basement Authority. They met with one of our experienced inspectors who recommended a variety of our permanent foundation repair solutions.
One of our expert crews installed two Wall Anchors on the more severe portion of the foundation wall. One of these anchors was a vertical Channel Anchor. Both of these anchors permanently stabilize the foundation wall and offer the best opportunity to straighten it. The Channel Anchor was bolted to the floor for additional support.
Several Carbon Fiber supports were placed on the other side of the foundation wall that was not as problematic. These sturdy supports also permanently reinforce the foundation wall where they are installed, and they prevent any further cracking or inward bowing.
The homeowners now have peace of mind knowing their home will be a safe and stable living environment for many years to come.
