Photo Album: Wall Anchors Stabilize a Failing Foundation Wall in Somerset, OH

Album Description

Since their house was built 18 years ago, homeowners in Somerset, OH, have been keeping an eye on problems with their foundation. One of the walls was cracking and starting to slightly tilt inward in some areas. These problems were only getting worse over time. The homeowners were concerned with the safety and value of their home, as they were trying to sell it.

After seeing ads for Ohio Basement Authority on TV, the homeowners were eager to contact us to learn more about how we could help them stabilize their home. They met with one of our inspectors who recommended one type of our many reliable foundation repair solutions, and they couldn’t wait for one of our crews to install it.

We installed a total of 12 Wall Anchors on this foundation wall that was showing signs of failure. The crew first carefully augured earth anchor holes in stable soil away from the foundation wall. These holes are where heavy-duty, galvanized earth anchors are securely embedded. Small holes were then drilled through the foundation walls, and galvanized steel rods were driven out to connect the interior wall plates and the earth anchors.

These durable wall anchors permanently stabilize the wall and prevent any further cracking and inward bowing. This unique system offers the best opportunity to straighten the wall, as well as enhance resale value.

The homeowners are happy this reliable repair solution was used to enhance the home’s value and safety for the next owners.
