After living in their house for less than one year, homeowners in Pataskala, OH, began to notice some problems underneath the house. The dirt-floor crawl space showed evidence of seeping water and damage, and frogs made themselves at home by entering through the open crawl space vents.
Concerned with how these conditions affected the rest of the house, the homeowners wanted to address these issues for good. They contacted Ohio Basement Authority after learning about us through resources like Angie’s List, and they met with one of our inspectors. After Inspector Jeff Floit assessed the condition of the crawl space, he then recommended some of our reliable repair solutions.
The crawl space was first waterproofed with the CrawlDrain drainage system along the perimeter. This system catches any seeping water and directs it to the SafeDri Pro sump pump to be pumped out of the crawl space.
The crawl space was then encapsulated in CrawlSeal liner. This thick and durable liner completely isolates the crawl space from the earth, and it acts as a moisture and vapor barrier. We further sealed the crawl space by placing vent covers on the home’s exterior over the previously open vents. A secure door also was installed, and we further ensured the air quality of the crawl space and home above by placing a dehumidifier in the crawl space.
The homeowners can breathe easier knowing these trustworthy solutions have helped them create a safer and healthier living environment that they will be able to enjoy for many years to come.
