When they moved into their house, new homeowners in Portsmouth, OH, came across some problems in the basement. They noticed evidence of water intrusion and damage, and they did not want to worry about their stored belongings being ruined. They also were concerned with cracks they noticed on one of the foundation walls, which also appeared to be slightly titling inward.
The homeowners wanted to have these problems fixed once and for all, so they began to research how to best address these issues. They found information about Ohio Basement Authority through online resources like Angie’s List, and they were eager to contact us for further assistance. They met with one of our inspectors who recommended our reliable basement waterproofing and foundation repair solutions after evaluating the basement’s condition.
One of our crews then waterproofed the large basement with the BasementGutter interior drainage system and SafeDri sump pumps. Any water intercepted by the BasementGutter system is directed to the SafeDri to be pumped out of the basement. FreezeGuards were attached to the exterior sump pump discharge lines, and one of the ends these lines was camouflaged in the yard by a YardWell outlet.
We also permanently reinforced the problematic foundation wall by installing several IntelliBrace beams. These durable beams will not rust or corrode like typical beams, and they can be tightened at intervals during the dry season to potentially improve the condition of the wall.
The homeowners now have peace of mind knowing these trustworthy repairs have fixed and protected their new home.
