A homeowner in Newark, OH, was preparing to re-do the floors in his house recently. He has lived in the house for 10 years, and it wasn’t until this project began that he noticed one section of the floor appeared to be sagging and unlevel.
The owner wanted to ensure the floor’s safety before completing this project, so he wanted to tackle this necessary repair project. After seeing an ad on TV for Ohio Basement Authority, the owner was eager to contact us to learn more about how we could help him.
He met with one of our inspectors who ventured into the crawl space to evaluate the support system. He found a failing, improper support system that was contributing to the bouncy floors. He discussed his findings with the homeowner, as well as the homeowner’s goals for the repair project. Our inspector then recommended the perfect permanent repair solution.
One of our crews then replaced the failing support beam with a new beam. This beam, as well as the above floor and floor joists, was then reinforced by several IntelliJacks. These heavy-duty, galvanized steel supports permanently stabilize the floor joists and help raise the floor back to level. They also will not rust or corrode. They are designed to stop settling, but can easily be adjusted if any settlement occurs.
The owner now has peace of mind knowing this reliable repair solution has helped him create a safe and stable home.
