After living in their house for almost two years, homeowners in Centerburg, OH, recently began to notice potential structural issues. These included cracks on the inside and outside of their garage. Once they removed some drywall from inside the garage, they found an improperly installed support jack that was rusting, corroding, and obviously failing.
The owners plan to live in the house for many years, so they wanted to address this problem right away before any further damage resulted. They knew they could count on Ohio Basement Authority for the perfect solution, as they were well-acquainted with one of our inspectors, Zeke Fowler. Zeke visited their home to take a look at the problematic support jack. He then recommended one type of our many reliable foundation repair solutions.
One of our crews, led by Foreman Jose De Jesus Tellez Ortiz, then replaced the failing support jack with a more reliable option – an IntelliJack support. It may look like a typical support jack, but the IntelliJack is far superior. It is made of galvanized steel so it will not rust, corrode and fail like the other support jack. The IntelliJack also is designed to stop sagging and settling, but can easily be adjusted if any settlement occurs.
The homeowners are pleased to now have a more reliable support system in their forever home.
