After living in their house for several years, homeowners in Chillicothe, OH, began to notice issues with dampness and moisture in the house. They questioned the source of these nuisances, and they figured out they originated from the crawl space.
The homeowners wanted to fix these issues once and for all, so they began to research repair options. After seeing some of Ohio Basement Authority’s TV ads, they were motivated to contact us to learn more about how we could help them.
They met with one of our inspectors who ventured into the crawl space to assess the condition of this area under the home. Our inspector found improper insulation and lining in the crawl space, as well as standing water and open vents. He discussed his findings with the homeowners, as well as their repair goals, and he then recommended some of our reliable crawl space repair solutions.
One of our crews then waterproofed the crawl space with the CrawlDrain drainage system and SafeDri sump pump. The crawl space was then encapsulated in Crawlseal liner. Additionally, spray foam was applied to the band joists for further insulation, a FreezeGuard was placed on the exterior sump pump discharge line, the vents were concealed by exterior vent covers, and the exterior access point was upgraded with a door.
The homeowners can rest easier knowing these trustworthy repairs have helped them create a safer and healthier crawl space and home.
